Privacy Policy
The short version
- We collect only what the app needs to work: your account, and the first names and ages of the kids you add so the stories can star them.
- Your voice never leaves your phone. Speech recognition runs on your device, and nothing is recorded.
- No ads. We don't sell your information or share it for advertising.
- Delete your account in the app at any time, and your data goes with it.
Norwally is a read-aloud bedtime story app published by Turini Labs, a DBA of Cooper Carlo LLC (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and what control you have over it.
01What we collect
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address and password | To create and sign in to your account. Passwords are encrypted and never visible to us. |
| Your name | To personalize the app. You can change it in Account settings. |
| Profile photo (optional) | Shown on your profile badge. Only if you choose to add one. |
| Your kids' first names, ages and pronouns | To write your kids into the stories as the main characters. We store the age as a birth year so it stays correct over time. |
| Purchase status | To unlock what you've bought. Apple handles payment, and we never see your card or payment details. |
If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email address that service shares with us. If you use Apple's “Hide My Email,” we only see the private relay address.
02What stays on your phone
- Microphone. The app listens while you read so it can play sounds at the right moment, and for a few moments where your kids blow or shout. Speech recognition runs entirely on your device. Audio is never recorded, stored or sent to us or anyone else.
- Motion. Some expeditions use your phone's motion sensor (for example, leaning to steer a sled). That data is used in the moment and never leaves the device.
03About kids' information
Norwally is made for parents to use with their children. Kids don't create accounts or enter information themselves. The only information about children in the app is what a parent chooses to add: a first name (or nickname), an age and pronouns. It is used only to personalize stories, never for advertising, and is never shared or sold. You can edit or remove a child at any time from your profile, and deleting your account removes them all. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
04How we use it
- To run the app: your account, your kids' names in the stories, and access to what you've purchased.
- To send account emails you need, such as password resets.
- To answer you when you contact support.
We don't use third-party advertising or tracking, and we don't sell or rent personal information.
05Who helps us
We use a small number of service providers to run the app, and they may only use your information to provide that service to us:
- Supabase stores account data, kids' names and profile photos, and handles sign-in.
- Apple processes purchases through the App Store under Apple's own privacy policy.
- Our email provider delivers account emails such as password resets.
We may also share information if required by law, or as part of a sale or merger of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
06Where it's stored and how long
Your information is stored on servers in the United States and is protected in transit and at rest. We keep it for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your account details, kids' information and profile photo are permanently deleted. Purchases belong to your Apple ID, so you can restore them later if you return.
07Your choices and rights
- See and edit: your name and kids' details are editable in the app.
- Delete: Profile → Account → Delete Account removes everything immediately.
- Ask: email us for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have additional rights, and we'll honor them.
- Permissions: you can turn off microphone or motion access in iPhone Settings at any time. Some story moments won't respond without them.
08Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll let you know in the app.
